              It is not very effective approach but is the simple trick to find invisible friend is by keeping an eye on activity happening with your facebook friends.Send a message  if he read a message it shows a message”Seen”  that the message is seen by your friend.

Might be your friend is going to post status to his timeline,Facebook groups,might be going to comment on any photos.status.These figures you to confirm that he is online but he is offline to chat.
